On September 4, there were two happy occasions at the Upper Austrian Military Command in Hörsching: On the one hand, three apprentices were congratulated on their successful final apprenticeship exams, and on the other hand, the Upper Austrian Basic Military Service of the Year award was presented.
The three apprentices have already successfully completed their final exams in the past few weeks. One of them even passed the exam with distinction. To mark the occasion, they were congratulated in front of the entire team. The youngest of the three accepted the award in the morning and then went a few steps further to report for his basic military service in Hörsching. Colonel Gerhard Bojtos performed the ceremony, congratulated the graduates and at the same time wished the new recruit a good time at the military command.
The second award of the day went to Private Peter G., who served as a conscript with the Air Support Command in the command support company. He was characterized by a particularly high level of motivation. He not only supported his comrades as a soldier’s representative, but also showed civil courage when he intervened on the way home as a mediator between two drivers who were fighting. This enabled him to calm the situation until the police patrol arrived.
