The two companies Rheinmetall and Airbus have delivered an A400M cargo hold simulator to the German Air Transport Wing 62 (LTG 62) of the German Armed Forces in Wunstdorf, Lower Saxony, Germany. The Cargo Hold Part Task Trainer (CPTT) complements the existing simulation and training systems at the Air Force Technical Training Center (A400M Training Center).

In Wunstorf, cargo hold crews are already being trained with the Cargo Hold Trainer Enhanced (CHT-E), among other things. Airbus, manufacturer of the European A400M military transport aircraft, commissioned Rheinmetall in February 2021 to supply two CPTT training simulators for the Bundeswehr sites in Wunstorf and Altenstadt. The order value was in the low double-digit million range. The airborne and air transport school in Altenstadt received the first training simulator at the end of 2022, which has been in use there since then for training air handling personnel and parachutists. The project was brought to a conclusion with the handover of the second simulator by Rheinmetall. https://militaeraktuell.at/naechster-leonardo-deal-griechenland-auftrag-fix/ The A400M CPTT is an exact replica of an A400M cargo hold. Cargo hold crews, parachutists and ground personnel are trained realistically. The CPTT can be used to train the mission-specific configurable conversion of the cargo hold, preparation of the load, loading and unloading, procedures during the flight and on the ground as well as crew cooperation. The system is suitable for both initial and advanced training as well as for recurrent and operational training. Complex scenarios and emergency situations can also be practiced safely. No original equipment is tied up for these training purposes, so that it is available for deployment instead. In addition to training, the CPTT enables the user to evaluate, test and qualify procedures and configurations for new load types.
