Last week, soldiers from the 7th Jäger Brigade trained together with German, American and Estonian comrades in the vital emergency procedure for a water landing on Lake Constance.

Soldiers from Pioneer Battalion 1 supported the German Airborne Brigade 1 and, after the parachutists jumped out of a German Airbus A400M transport plane, they used their 300 hp assault and shallow-water boats to get them out of the water.

The commander of the “Seventh”, Brigadier Horst Hofer, and Colonel Alexander Raszer, the commander of Jäger Battalion 25, were able to see the increased operational readiness of their soldiers for themselves on site – they also jumped in. With its special capabilities, such as operational command in built-up areas in the midst of the population and the ability to transport soldiers by air to areas where other armed forces cannot go, the “light” brigade is ideally placed to respond to current and future threats.
