On June 16, Upper Austria’s military commander Brigadier Dieter Muhr hosted a spring reception at the Spinnerei Traun. The 60th anniversary of the Upper Austrian Military Command was also celebrated in the presence of Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner.
“Military commanders of the Austrian Armed Forces are an important point of contact for the civilian world, for the provincial governor and the provincial government as well as for young people who join the forces and often come into contact with the military for the first time. The military commander and his soldiers are the indispensable links between the Armed Forces and the civilian authorities and other operational organizations. They take command of troops both in disaster operations and in security police assistance missions.
