Due to the high number of new Covid infections, special exit restrictions apply in the Salzburg municipalities of Radstadt and Bad Hofgastein. People over the age of 15 are only allowed to leave the municipalities if they can present a negative corona test, which must not be older than 48 hours. The new regulations are to last until March 18.
Salzburg’s Governor Wilfried Haslauer has requested assistance from the Salzburg military commander to carry out the necessary checks together with the police. “We have two assistance platoons on duty, which will monitor the exit from the affected areas together with the police,” says military commander Brigadier Anton Waldner. “The assistance mission serves to support the health authorities and is intended to help contain the spread of infection.” The deployment is generally carried out together with the police. The 55 soldiers will carry out proper checks and, if necessary, people without a negative test or medical certificate will be turned back in accordance with official instructions. The military assistants come from the Krobatin barracks in St. Johann im Pongau and the Wallner barracks in Saalfelden. All deployed soldiers are also tested for coronavirus. The task force at the Salzburg Military Command is managing the ongoing assistance operations.
