Recently, the procurement office of the Bundeswehr and the contractor Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH (ESG) recently signed a contract to ensure the continuation of Central Bundeswehr Spare Parts Logistics (ZEBEL). The current contract would have expired on August 31, 2026; the early extension of the contract will extend the range of services for the period from September 1, 2024 to the end of 2032 with the option of a further two years in the long term.
In practice, the classic ZEBEL project component essentially involves the supply of individual consumer goods, which are stockpiled in the Bundeswehr’s central logistics and made available to ESG on request. ESG stores the goods in its own storage facility to be operated by the company in the form of a consignment warehouse. The contract also includes transport to the maintenance facilities on the requested date or within 48 hours and the handling of all associated management functions in close cooperation with the logistics command, the logistics center and the Bundeswehr Procurement Office. https://militaeraktuell.at/diamond-aircraft-da62-auftrag-aus-griechenland/ In the more recent project share of non-autonomous federally owned warehouses, aircraft, aviation equipment and additional equipment of the Bundeswehr (LLZ) are largely maintained by civilian companies and facilities with which separate maintenance framework agreements are concluded. To ensure an uninterrupted supply of spare parts, some of these companies have so-called non-autonomous federally owned warehouses to stockpile supplies owned by the Bundeswehr. This enables certain supplies to be transferred to the ownership of the federal government. Through the ZEBEL project, ESG continues to be commissioned with the data and material management services required for the supply of spare parts. The classic ZEBEL project component currently supplies around 450 service recipients and operates material and data management for 27 non-autonomous federal warehouses.
