On August 1, 200 recruits took their oath of allegiance to the Republic of Austria on the town square in Gampern. Mayor Jürgen Lachinger addressed greetings to the young soldiers, as did Member of Parliament Elisabeth Kneißl, who was there on behalf of the Governor of Upper Austria, Thomas Stelzer.

The swearing-in ceremony took place in the presence of Brigadier Dieter Muhr, the military commander of Upper Austria. He emphasized the importance of comradeship and recalled his own time as a conscript, when he shared a room with a comrade from Gampern.

The recruits who have now been sworn in arrived in Wels, Hörsching and Enns in July.

The recruits, who enlisted in Wels, Hörsching and the Army NCO Academy in Enns in July, will continue their military training in the coming months and serve in Upper Austria. After the ceremony and a meal together, the recruits were able to drive home with their families.
