The Slovenian training simulation provider Guardiaris and the Austrian manufacturer Viewpointsystem signed a contract a few days ago at the IT2EC conference in Rotterdam an agreement for the international distribution of Viewpointsystem’s smart glasses with eye-tracking technology.
At the heart of the collaboration are the VPS 19 goggles with their innovative “Digital Iris” technology. This opens up completely new application possibilities in military training, as Viewpointsystem CEO Nils Berger explains: “Soldiers, special forces, police officers – anyone who is deployed – often only have fractions of a second to make decisions. However, human perception is often impaired in complex situations. This is mainly due to human visual behavior in stressful situations.” Berger continues: “However, with the help of advanced mobile eye-tracking technology, military leaders can efficiently train their soldiers to shorten gaze jumps, increase attention and improve perception.”
As part of the collaboration, new possibilities for an innovative training system are to be created. This system is to be based on “deeper cognitive and even subconscious analyses”, as the two companies emphasize, and enable “faster and more effective learning time”.
“As an official reseller of Viewpointsystem’s smart glasses in the military sector, we are convinced that we are introducing a groundbreaking technology to the military industry that could change the way military training and operations are conducted,” said Primož Peterca, CEO of Guardiaris.
