On Friday, the Viennese “Basic Conscript of the Year” was honored in Brunn am Gebirge. The Brunn am Gebirge Army Clothing Institute is celebrating its 110th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the Army Clothing Institute hosted an exhibition, a concert by the Lower Austrian Military Band and a subsequent swearing-in ceremony for around 200 conscripts from Vienna and Lower Austria.
Cyber-GWD receives award
Private Benjamin Borenich received the award for his outstanding achievements as a Cyber-GWD. During his service in Directorate 6, he designed and implemented the framework for the technical infrastructure of a mobile escape room, which was also presented on site. He independently familiarized himself with various relevant technologies, carried out a market analysis for procurement and also created product lists. The finished prototype was used at numerous events and received excellent feedback from both visitors and operators. His creative approach, high motivation and high level of problem-solving skills are particularly noteworthy in his work. https://militaeraktuell.at/lockheed-praesentiert-seine-super-hercules/ “Private Borenich has contributed his personal knowledge, skills and abilities, especially in the field of automation. He has familiarized himself with new technologies and made a decisive contribution to the development of something completely new, namely the mobile escape room,” said Vienna’s military commander, Brigadier General Kurt Wagner, during the presentation of the award. Recognition of special achievements
A new feature is that all military commanders present an award to a “basic military serviceman of the year”, from which a jury from the Federal Ministry of Defense selects a winner for the nationwide award. This winner will be chosen on November 7 in Salzburg. The categories at this event are “Soldier of the Year”, “Unit of the Year”, “Civilian Service Employee of the Year” and, of course, “Basic Military Service Employee of the Year”.
