Loitering ammunition provider UVision Air is increasing the operational flexibility of its Hero-120 ammunition. At the Paris Air Show, the Israeli company will be demonstrating the usability of Hero-120 from various multi-role and combat helicopters.

The new launch configuration was developed jointly with the US defense integrator Fulcrum Concepts LLC and Mistral Inc. It enables the Hero-120 to be used by rotorcraft without the need for extensive integration into avionics or fire control systems. This modular approach not only reduces costs and integration effort, but also allows rapid adaptation to different helicopter types – from today’s models to future systems such as the US Next-Generation Vertical Mobility Programs.

Tactical advantages and high adaptability

From UVision’s perspective, the new helicopter launch capability brings a number of tactical advantages. These include the transfer of control of loitering munitions to ground forces for use beyond the line of sight, more precise target engagement and improved interoperability between air and land forces. The Hero-120 supports interchangeable warheads and payloads, allowing it to be flexibly configured for engagement of armored targets, soft targets or ISR missions.

Compatibility with a large number of Western and NATO-standardized helicopters – from older platforms to the latest models – allows broad operational integration without major modifications to the carrier platforms.

Real use without platform conversions

“This is a breakthrough in helicopter operational capability,” explains Ran Gozali, CEO of UVision. “For the first time, helicopters can provide loitering munitions for multiple units, enable real-time target delivery and significantly expand the range of missions – all without costly platform modifications.”

The Hero-120 is a medium-range loitering munition designed for precision engagement of armored vehicles, soft targets and other high-value threats. It has a multi-purpose warhead and supports various payloads.
