F-18 Super Hornet with fuselage saddle tanks.

Despite the ongoing introduction of the F-35C (carrier version), the Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is not coming to an end as expected, but another 78 aircraft of the last Block-III version will be reordered by 2021 for around 50 million euros each.

The USAF will also receive eight newly built F-15Xs, the last Eagle standard based on the F-15QA for Qatar. And there could even be 80 of this jet, which was also already “believed to be dead”, by 2024. Incidentally, both procurements are “at the expense” of the projected number of just 20 F-35Cs and 48 F-35As for the USAF for the period up to 2021.
