Up to 4.5 billion euros: This is the value of an IDIQ (indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) contract from the US Army and Lockheed Martin for the production of additional Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM). The contract allows the US armed forces to flexibly increase and call up production capacity.

Carolyn Orzechowski, vice president of Precision Fires Launchers and Missiles at Lockheed Martin, said: “Our team remains focused on advancing production quickly and at scale to ensure we can deliver this critical capability to the armed forces when needed.”

PrSM is the US Army’s next generation of long-range precision missiles, capable of engaging targets at a range of more than 400 kilometers. The advanced surface-to-surface weapon has an open system architecture for the integration of future capabilities and compatibility with HIMARS and MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) platforms.

In addition, Lockheed Martin has recently been able to further advance the development of the weapon thanks to the use of digital tools such as augmented reality, ARISE Advanced Modeling and Simulation, data analysis and software factory, thereby improving manufacturability, quality and performance.
