Upper Austria’s military commander Brigadier Dieter Muhr took a meeting with the heads of the blue light organizations in Upper Austria as an opportunity to thank them for their excellent cooperation.
“I was impressed by your prudent leadership in action, your mission-oriented implementation and your care for your subordinates. I award you the Commander’s Coin of the Military Commander of Upper Austria,” said Muhr, handing over the coin to everyone with a traditional handshake. As a sign of recognition, the heads of the operational organizations received the Commander’s Coin – a special award presented by the military commander to thank them for their performance and loyalty. State Rescue Commander Reinhard Schmidt expressed a similar view: “Crises such as the management of the coronavirus pandemic and the current situation in Ukraine pose challenges that can only be overcome through close coordination and unrestricted personal trust. I see the award as a sign of appreciation that honors the performance of the Red Cross, but also makes me personally proud.” State Fire Director Robert Mayer, the state fire department commander, “I am very proud of the excellent cooperation with the armed forces in Upper Austria. The award of the Coin of the Military Commander is a special sign of this active connection, for which I am very grateful.”
