As the Ukrainian Ministry of Strategic Industries recently announced, the Belgian subsidiary of Thales, Thales Belgium, signed a letter of intent a few weeks ago with a major Ukrainian defense company for the joint development and production of C-UAS (Counter-Unmanned Aerial System) missiles.

Herman Smetanin, the Ukrainian Minister of Strategic Industries, emphasized: “The signed Memorandum of Understanding creates a framework for the joint production of C-UAS missiles. I am grateful to Thales for supporting the defense of Ukraine in our fight against the Russian armed invasion.” With this agreement, Ukraine aims to accelerate the deployment of these systems. The cooperation is in line with the strategies of NATO and European strategies to strengthen Ukraine’s resilience through the promotion of partnerships. The Minister further explained that the partnership with Thales reflects Ukraine’s strategy to develop its domestic defense industry with the help of an established international company.
