As the Greek-Cypriot company Theon International Plc announced, the company has already received orders worth 53 million euros from a total of twelve countries in 2025. The majority of these new orders come from Germany, one of Theon’s core markets.

In Germany, Theon supplies the German Future Soldier Program (IdZ). On January 29, the German Bundestag approved the procurement, and the contract was signed just under a week later. These are orders for Theon’s newly introduced heads-up display system, which is part of the A.R.M.E.D. product range (Augmented Reality Modular Ecosystem of Devices). According to the company, this system of connected devices meets soldiers’ needs for improved situational awareness, sensor fusion and interconnectivity in combat conditions.

Philippe Mennicken, Business Development Director at Theon, said: “We have started the new year with a significant order intake, continuing the momentum from the end of last year. In particular, our participation in the IdZ program with our THEA heads-up display shows that our newly launched A.R.M.E.D. products have the potential to increase our future sales beyond our traditional night vision business.”

The main contractor for the IdZ program is Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH. However, Theon, with its subsidiary Theon Sensors, is the largest supplier of the program. Theon expects “that this program will serve as a reference for similar programs in various countries worldwide”, as stated in a press release. In addition, the company assumes that the options contained in the contract will be exercised in full as soon as the first deliveries are made in 2026.
