From personal equipment to new helicopters
According to the press release, the roll-out of the new camouflage suit will continue in 2026 and be extended to other units. The aim is to gradually equip all operational and training units with modern, mission-oriented personal equipment.
There is also a major focus on strengthening logistical sustainability: the procurement of 49 truck hook loading systems for flexible material and equipment chains is planned, as well as the addition of a total of 855 military off-road trucks to renew the existing fleet. “These vehicles form the backbone of military mobility and are crucial for disaster relief, operational support and national defense,” according to the press release.
To safeguard the military’s core competencies, further additions of armored systems are also planned for 2026: Nine modernized Ulan infantry fighting vehicles for armoured infantry battalions 35 and 13, 16 modernized Leopard main battle tanks for armoured battalion 14 and 28 new wheeled armoured vehicles Pandur Evolution.
