Brigadier Wagner welcomes Norman Gobbi.

As part of a bilateral visit, a delegation from the Swiss Intergovernmental Conference for Military, Civil Defense and Fire Services visited the Austrian capital on October 7. After an introduction to the structures of state security organizations, specifically the Department for Crisis and Disaster Management of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the City of Vienna, and a visit to the headquarters of the Vienna Professional Fire Brigade, a flying visit was made to the Situation Centre of the Vienna Military Command. The Viennese military commander, Brigadier Kurt Wagner, gave a briefing on the structures, processes and mechanisms of civil-military cooperation using Vienna as an example. This was followed by an exchange of experiences between the Swiss delegation and experts from the Vienna Military Command. The President of the Intergovernmental Conference for Military, Civil Defence and Fire Services, its Secretary General and the Swiss Defence Attaché were impressed by the synergy between the military and civilian emergency organizations.
