With its C-390M, Embraer has long since become a serious rival to Lockheed Martin’s C-130 – and it is not only in Austria that the air force has opted for the Brazilian model.

In addition to the Brazilian Air Force (7 of 19 aircraft ordered have currently been delivered), the C-390M is also in service with the air forces of Portugal (2 of 5) and Hungary (1 of 2). Orders have also been received from the Netherlands and Austria (9 aircraft were procured together), the Czech Republic (2), South Korea (3), Sweden (4) and from an as yet unnamed customer (2).
