On behalf of the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Procurement Agency (FMV) has signed a framework agreement with the Polish company Szczęśniak Pojazdy Specjalne for the procurement of heavy recovery vehicles. The subcontractors are the Swedish companies Sepson and Scania.

An initial call-off of ten vehicles has already been made, with the first deliveries to the armaments authority planned for December. This will be followed by an extensive test and trial phase before the series configuration and further deliveries are determined. The framework agreement has a term of four years with the possibility of an extension for a further three years and has an estimated value of around 54 million euros.

The recovery vehicles are built on a Scania 8×8 chassis with 520 hp. The cab is designed for three crew members. There are a total of five winch units on the vehicle, including a Sepson Septrac main winch with 20 tons of individual pulling force. The recovery arm enables a lifting capacity of up to 20 tons. The recovery vehicles are suitable for recovering, lifting and towing all wheeled vehicles of the Swedish Armed Forces.

The heavy-duty vehicles will be an addition to the Swedish army, as the transportation equipment function has been severely neglected for many years.
