On March 26, the commander of the Air Force and Anti-Aircraft Troop School swore in a total of 45 recruits at Brumowski Air Base. Due to the necessary security measures, the swearing-in ceremony took place in private.
However, this did not detract from the festive atmosphere: the military music of Lower Austria and the Catholic and Protestant military clergy provided the ceremonial setting. In his speech, Colonel of the General Staff Service Reinhard Kraft explained the special importance of the Austrian Armed Forces in times of crisis and thanked the recruits for their service to protect the population. “Especially now, in the extraordinary phase of the pandemic, the Austrian Armed Forces are taking on many tasks in the state that other institutions are unable to perform. We help where others can no longer!”
