The Steyr Motors AG has successfully entered the market in Poland another important milestone in its international expansion strategy, according to a press release. With the conclusion of a long-term framework agreement with Taurus Sea Power sp. z o.o., an established distributor of marine engines, the company has simultaneously launched its expansion into other key markets in Eastern Europe such as EstoniaLatvia and Lithuania.

The contract, which was signed in July, covers exclusive cooperation in the area of sales, spare parts and service for Steyr Motors marine engines. The company’s aim is to systematically develop the market in Poland and neighboring Eastern European countries.

Poland is the country in Europe with the highest defense spending as a percentage of gross domestic product (2024: 4.2 percent, -> Poland on the way to becoming the strongest army in Europe), followed by Estonia (3.4 percent) and plays a central role in the security policy context of the EU and NATO. From Steyr Motors’ perspective, the markets in Eastern Europe therefore offer “considerable growth potential with correspondingly high demand in both the civilian and military sectors”.

A key element of the partnership is the training of service technicians: in future, Taurus Sea Power will have certified SMO technicians to ensure a consistently high standard of quality in aftersales service. Taurus Sea Power has decades of experience in the sale of marine engines and serves a wide range of customers – from leisure and sports boats to yachts.
