On February 6, 2017, the 2nd semester of the 6th FH Master’s degree course in Military Leadership began with 22 course participants and two lateral entrants at the Institute for Higher Military Leadership at the National Defense Academy.
After the welcome and administration, the course participants and course commander Colonel Prader used the first day to present the 6th FH-MaStg MilFü. It began with the blessing of the degree course badges and the degree course wine. The blessing took place in the Viennese military garrison church of the Holy Cross, better known as Stifts-Kirche. The blessing was performed by the military dean Peter Papst. Afterwards, the dead comrades were commemorated at the UN memorial in the church. Military Dean Papst awarded the first of the blessed badges to Colonel Prader, who then presented them to the course participants. The presentation of the 6th FH-MaStg MilFü took place at 17.00 in the officers’ mess of the National Defense Academy. After the report to the deputy academy commander, Brigadier Mag Segur-Cabanac, and the words of welcome by Colonel Prader, the speeches by Brigadier Mag Segur-Cabanac and Prof. Dr. Rößl, as head of the college, followed. Major Lindner, one of the course participants, explained the significance of the course badge. Afterwards, the course wine was presented and tasted by the junior chef and cellar master of Weinbau Heinrich, Thomas Heinrich. The official part of the event concluded with the presentation of the course badges by the course representative Colonel Miedler to Brigadier Mag Segur-Cabanac, Prof. Dr. Rößl and the course director Brigadier Mag Rotheneder Andreas. On the following day, the scientific method of TAKTIK, which is the main focus of the 2nd semester, was introduced.
