Indra and Rheinmetall Electronics have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the modernization of the Spanish Leopard 2 E Combat System. This will enable the integration of state-of-the-art technologies that are also compatible with future combat platforms.
Indra and Rheinmetall Electronics have jointly manufactured the Combat System (fire control system and C4I system) for all Spanish Leopard 2 E vehicles. With the recently signed memorandum of understanding, they continue their cooperation in the manufacture and maintenance of the respective fire control and C4I systems.
Rheinmetall Electronics was the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the fire control systems for the Leopard 2 and enables flexible fleet management with a standardized core system and individual adaptations on customer request.
Indra and Rheinmetall “jointly offer state-of-the-art solutions that are fully compatible with other Leopard 2 versions”, according to a recent press release. And further: “Leopard 2 users can therefore access the same product base and share innovative individual product improvements over the entire service life.”
