The Spanish armed forces have, according to a report by Infodefensa at Quantum Systems Vector drones with a total value of around 27 million euros. The plan is to procure a total of 91 systems, each consisting of two drones and a ground station.

The aim of the procurement is to equip both the army and the navy with the unmanned reconnaissance systems. The unit price per system is 301,000 euros (plus VAT).

According to the report, around a dozen companies had originally submitted bids. In addition to Quantum Systems, Telefónica also made it to the final selection – the decision in favor of the German drone manufacturer was therefore extremely close.

Following the type decision, the framework agreement is now to be finally negotiated and signed. The budget that has already been approved would also make it possible to increase the contract to around 150 systems in the future.
