The non-profit organization “Soldiers with Heart” was able to launch its next successful campaign: After recently inviting 20 young SOS Children’s Village residents plus a team of supervisors to the Olachgut for a varied day of adventure (Militär Aktuell reported), André, a resident of the SOS Children’s Village Moosburg, has now been supported in practicing his hobby.
André discovered his passion for fishing two years ago. Unfortunately, he does not have the necessary equipment to protect him from the cool temperatures at the Moosburg ponds in the evenings. So that he can continue to pursue his hobby, his supervisor Marlene Kohlweiß turned to “Soldiers with a Heart” and asked for support: “André lives for fishing, so I contacted the soldiers because they always have an open ear for our children and young people.” Within two weeks, the comrades had collected enough donations. “We were able to fulfill André’s heart’s desire. The new high-quality Anaconda sleeping bag will now be a warming hug for him when he goes fishing in cold and rough times,” says John Patrick Platzer, President of Soldiers with Heart.

In addition to fishing accessories such as bait bags, boilies and casting leads, he also received headgear, thermal underwear, warm Crocs and a rain poncho. André was visibly moved and expressed his thanks: “I’m simply delighted with everything and I’m sure that all the gifts will definitely bring me a lot of fishing luck. Good luck fishing!” Andreas Lepuschitz, Vice President of Soldiers with Heart, provided another highlight of the donation handover with an invitation to fish together and a coaching session. As an experienced angler, he concluded by giving André his credo: “A good angler has respect for fish and nature. And if nothing bites – don’t give up, keep going! This is not only an important lesson for fishing, but also for life.”
