Constable Mario C. from Jägerbataillon 12 in Amstetten and Constable Gregor P. from Villach Pionierbataillon 1 have successfully completed the 62-day US Ranger training course, which comprises three phases (“Darby”, “Mountain” and “Swamp”).
At the end of the course in Fort Moore in the US state of Georgia, they were ceremoniously presented with the coveted US Ranger badge. They have successfully completed the toughest course in the US Army and are now able to lead squad and platoon missions around the clock in all climate zones and in any terrain.
“Rangers” are more resilient and better prepared to lead soldiers in extreme situations. The participants in the training were often trained to exhaustion and pushed themselves to their mental and physical limits. The two non-commissioned officers will now pass on the skills and abilities they acquired in their training with the “Seventh”, the light brigade of the Austrian Armed Forces.
