The unmanned rotary-wing system took part in several missions and demonstrated its suitability for use in maritime environments as well as its integration into modern battle management systems.
According to the Austrian drone manufacturer, the S-100 was equipped with a range of advanced sensors, communication links and AI-supported data modules. Among the systems tested was the CRFS RFeye Node 100-18 LW, a radio intelligence sensor (SIGINT) that can detect activity in the frequency range up to 18 GHz and geolocate in real time.
Another module was the Akheros Skylock system, which is based on the NATO DIANA (Defense Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic) AI framework. It enables the analysis and detection of anomalies during flight and was used to test methods for data fusion and autonomous decision support.
Particular attention was paid to integration into the Tacticos battle management system from
Thales
. By demonstrating the new STANAG-4817 protocol, operators were able to control the S-100 directly from the Tacticos console – a step towards a standardized NATO-wide command and control architecture for unmanned systems.

Other demonstrations included the Oceanwatch PT-8 sensor, which was developed for autonomous detection of small objects on the sea surface over long distances, and the bathymetric LiDAR (Areté PILLS/PNGS): in cooperation with the US company Areté, the new LiDAR system was tested for shallow waters and obstacle detection. The technology achieved a higher sampling rate and was successfully used on a Portuguese offshore patrol vessel.
“The ‘Repmus’ exercise provides a realistic environment to test maritime capabilities and further develop interoperability between systems and nations,” said Hans Georg Schiebel, Chairman of the Schiebel Group.
Most recently, the Austrian drone manufacturer also
armed variants of the S-100 and the larger S-300
.
