After heavy rainfall and the resulting flooding and mudslides, the Austrian Armed Forces in Salzburg were asked for help. Pioneer Battalion 2 in the Schwarzenberg barracks formed an assistance platoon and that very morning, in close cooperation with the authorities, the police and the fire department, pioneer specialists scouted the damaged areas in the municipality of Wald im Pinzgau.

As a result, 47 soldiers went into action in Wald im Pinzgau. The assistance mission involves clearing mudslides in the area of the station and along the railroad line. The most important task is to restore public transport links. The soldiers are supported by six heavy engineering machines.
