Saab has signed a contract with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration for the modernization of coastal defense missiles. The order has a total value of 70 million euros, with deliveries planned from 2026.
The contract covers the Saab RBS15 Mk3 anti-ship missile, which is integrated on a launcher module and installed on a truck. Sweden currently uses its predecessor, the RBS15 Mk2. The anti-ship missile coastal defense capability was reintroduced to the Swedish Armed Forces in 2016 and is now complemented by the RBS15 Mk3 on new launcher platforms.

“Sweden is getting a significant capability boost with an anti-ship missile that has a more advanced seeker, longer range and a more powerful warhead. The RBS15 has been specially developed for the complex operational conditions and harsh weather of the Baltic Sea,” says Görgen Johansson, Head of Dynamics at Saab.
The RBS15 Mk3 has a range of more than 200 kilometers, can be launched from ships and trucks and is mainly used against sea targets. The system is being developed by Saab in cooperation with its German partner Diehl Defense developed and produced.
