Saab has been acquired by Airbus Defense and Space an order for the Arexis sensor suite for electronic warfare (EW). The contract runs from 2024 to 2026.

The German Federal Office of Procurement and Logistics (BAAINBw) selected Arexis as the preferred solution for the Eurofighter electronic warfare (EW) variants early last summer – The contract has now been signed. Airbus intends to supply Arexis with a total of 15 Eurofighter of the German Air Force for EW missions. These aircraft will then replace the German Air Force’s Tornado ECRs, which will be retired from 2030. https://militaeraktuell.at/so-will-das-bundesheer-verteidigungsfaehig-werden/ “Our solid experience in the development of electronic warfare systems for airborne platforms and our long-standing cooperation with Airbus will be crucial for the delivery of the Eurofighter EK to the German Air Force,” says Micael Johansson, CEO and President of Saab. “By combining advanced hardware and AI-powered software, our Arexis sensor suite will strengthen the German aircraft with future-proof electronic warfare capabilities for decades to come.” Saab will be supported in the work by its strategic AI partner Helsing and the Arexis suite will also include Helsing’s AI platform.
