Saab will present the compact radar module for the Giraffe 1X radar at Eurosatory 2024 (June 17-21) in Paris. The compact radar module is designed as a complete solution. The antenna can be folded into the radar module at the touch of a button, giving the system versatile and highly mobile capabilities for rapid deployment requirements.
The combat-proven, lightweight Giraffe 1X radar, which is constantly being upgraded in terms of software, can now be supplied together with the compact radar module as a single operational device. With its small footprint – the bed of a pick-up truck is sufficient – and its large search radius of up to 75 kilometers, it is ideal for urgent missions with limited operational infrastructure. Giraffe 1X can simultaneously provide commanders with high-quality air defense target data, drone detection for UAS defense, and sense-and-warn capabilities for missiles, artillery and mortars. In addition, the system is kept up to date through continuous software upgrades.
