Saab has taken an important step towards the delivery of its Gripen E to Brazil. The first jet destined for the South American country was presented at a ceremony in Linköping, Sweden, a few days ago (see video below) and will now undergo extensive flight tests.
Tests are initially planned in Sweden, then from the end of 2020 the tests will continue in Brazil and the following year the delivery of the 36 Gripen E/Fs ordered will begin. The aircraft will be developed with the participation of Brazilian technicians and engineers, and the production of 15 aircraft is also planned in Brazil.
