The
Swedish defense contractor Saab
and the
Swedish Armed Forces
have extended their existing maintenance and support contract for the Gripen C/D and E multi-role fighter aircraft. The new contract is worth around 360 million euros and covers the period from 2026 to 2027.
According to a recent press release from the company, the agreement also includes options for additional orders until 2029.
The contract covers a wide range of services, including technical system support, spare parts supply, repairs, training and other service and maintenance work required for the flight operations of the Gripen fleet.
“This contract extension ensures that we will continue to provide a very high operational availability of Gripen and deliver the support that the Swedish Air Force needs for its operational readiness,” explains Lars Tossman, Head of Saab’s Aeronautics business area.
