Saab announced a partnership with Maxar Intelligence – a provider of geospatial intelligence. The aim of the collaboration is to “fundamentally change the modern, cross-domain battlespace through space-based technologies”, according to a recent press release.
As part of this cooperation, Saab will draw on Maxar’s satellite technologies and geospatial expertise to further develop capabilities in the areas of target acquisition, GPS-independent systems and C5ISR (Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) solutions. The aim is to create robust and intelligent systems that remain operational even in GPS-denied environments – a decisive advantage on the battlefield of the future.
“Our collaboration with Maxar is a significant step towards harnessing the potential of space as a source of information to strengthen the strategic defense capabilities of Europe and beyond,” says Görgen Johansson, Head of Saab’s Dynamics business area.
“By integrating Maxar’s high-precision geospatial data and satellite solutions into our advanced defense systems, we are setting new standards in the effectiveness and reliability of military operations across all domains.”
