It has been talked about for a long time, but now the time has come: a few days ago, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) started a review process for the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V. For Russian President Vladimir Putin, this is a prestigious success: Even if it is not yet clear whether and when the green light will be given for the vaccine in the EU, several EU countries – including Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, for example – are showing great interest in the vaccine. Putin has thus once again underlined his influence on European politics. But why is unease against Russia growing in Eastern Europe at the same time? Presenter Elias Natmessnig answers these questions in the Kurier podcast “Kurier daily” together with security policy expert and President of the Center for Strategic Analysis (CSA) Brigadier (ret.) Walter Feichtinger and provides detailed information on Russia’s growing influence in Europe.
