The Swedish Armaments and Defense Technology Agency (FMV, Försvarets materielverk) recently handed over the first ten of a total of 22 new Rosenbauer Type II fire and rescue vehicles ordered in Type II Rosenbauer firefighting and rescue vehicles ordered in 2021 ordered in 2021 to the Swedish Air Force. The remaining vehicles are to follow this year.
According to the FMV, the new vehicles should “represent a modern addition to the other rescue vehicles on the air force flotillas and bases”. There, the Type II will mainly be used for serious accidents.
The supplier is the Austrian company Rosenbauer International AG. The order also includes maintenance in the form of spare parts and technical support as well as an option for a further 22 vehicles. Prior to delivery, FMV’s testing and evaluation department carried out a comprehensive inspection and delivery check. “Thanks to the very good cooperation with everyone involved at FMV, the Swedish Armed Forces and the supplier, we can start delivery ahead of the planned handover date,” says Henrik Troedsson.
