Cooperation between Rheinmetall and Hologate: the two German companies intend to work together in the future to develop innovative simulation solutions. According to a joint press release, the collaboration aims to “promote developments that are of crucial importance for modern military training”.
The press release also stated that realistic and modern simulation technologies are essential in a world where the requirements for training systems and methods for driver training are becoming more complex. The combination of Rheinmetall’s know-how in the field of military training systems and Hologate’s expertise in the development of XR simulation technologies is intended to address this issue. https://militaeraktuell.at/bae-systems-neues-helmsystem-fuer-den-eurofighter/ “This partnership is an important step for Rheinmetall in further expanding our portfolio of VR/XR training and simulation solutions,” explained Hanno Tabeling, Head of Driving Simulation Systems Technology at Rheinmetall. “With Hologate’s state-of-the-art software, we are able to offer our customers even more realistic and flexible training options. In the development of a VR driving simulator for training military drivers, this collaboration can be seen and experienced for the first time.” From projects with the German armed forces and the German police, in which XR technologies meet the highest training standards, Hologate already brings extensive expertise to the collaboration. The new AI and trainer-controlled solutions are designed to provide a holistic and realistic training experience. The mobile XR motion simulator HGXR SIM, for example, enables versatile applications such as helicopter, truck or boat simulation. Thanks to the open system architecture and virtual buttons, it is possible to switch quickly between different vehicle models at the touch of a button. This not only saves resources, but also increases efficiency and reduces costs.
“With Hologate’s state-of-the-art software, we are able to offer our customers even more realistic and flexible training options.

“The partnership with Rheinmetall is a significant step forward for us,” says Leif Petersen, CEO of Hologate. “By combining our expertise in XR technologies with Rheinmetall’s extensive know-how, we can develop innovative simulation solutions that set new standards.” In addition, the modern motion tracking technology minimizes latency times and simulates dynamic G-forces of up to two “G”. A precise and realistic training environment is created thanks to a movement range of one meter stroke and inclinations of up to 30 degrees. The simulator is designed for a wide range of training scenarios and can be used at different locations thanks to its flexibility.
