With a solemn requiem in the Franciscan Church, the Salzburg Military Command and the Salzburg Comradeship Association commemorated the deceased of all wars. The ceremony commemorated not only all fallen soldiers, but also the countless civilian victims of the conflicts.

The requiem was celebrated by Senior Military Curate Richard Weyringer, Brother Thomas and Pastor Simon Weyringer. A clear sign of respect, tolerance and tradition was the framing of the altar area with flag delegations from the Kameradschaftsbund and the insignia of the Salzburg Military Command. Many guests from the world of politics as well as from emergency organizations and traditional associations took part in the ceremony in one of the oldest churches in Salzburg’s old town. “May the respect for all fallen soldiers and victims of war live on in the service,” said Weyringer. The Salzburg Military Music under Military Bandmaster Colonel Ernst Herzog provided an atmospheric musical accompaniment with excerpts from the Requiem by Julius Fuèík and the Requiem by Hans Eibl. The hour of remembrance ended with the song “Good Comrade”.
