A few days ago, the German Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, Robert Habeck, visited the new production facility of Quantum-Systems GmbH in the Ukraine. Since spring 2022, just a short time after the start of the war, the company has been supporting Ukraine in its defensive campaign against Russia.

The plant opening was also attended by the Ukrainian Minister of Strategic Industry, Oleksandr Kamyshin, and the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Defense, Ivan Hawryliuk. Quantum Systems has primarily developed the Vector reconnaissance drones to Ukraine. Since May 2022, 212 systems have been made available via the upgrade initiative, and this figure is set to more than double to over 500 systems by the end of the year. Quantum Systems already operates a local service, support, training and logistics center with 25 Ukrainian employees. They train drone pilots and implement technological developments directly on site in the reconnaissance systems. In future, the new production company will supply up to 1,000 Vector drones per year and ensure the production of spare parts. https://militaeraktuell.at/gefechtsschiessen-der-schwarzenborner-jaeger/ Florian Seibel, founder and CEO of Quantum Systems, comments: “Ukraine has trusted our reconnaissance systems since the start of the war. With our own plant, we want to express our trust in Ukraine and our conviction that the future of drone technology is being written here and that it will make a decisive contribution.” The new plant will be the company’s second site in Ukraine and is expected to employ around 100 people by the end of the year. Quantum Systems is investing up to six million euros over the next two years. Quantum Systems currently produces as a dual-use company with around 250 employees at three locations (-> Report on the opening of the Australian subsidiary & Report on the opening of the California site) for the civil and public sectors. The production facility in Ukraine is the fourth plant among a total of seven locations worldwide.
