The recruits began their service in the Austrian Armed Forces in August and completed their basic training. The soldiers who were sworn in will continue their service as musicians with the Military Music Tyrol. Colonel Anton Frisch, the highest military representative, and the families of the prospective military musicians were welcomed as guests.
Colonel Frisch opened his speech with the words: “A swearing-in ceremony for recruits to the Austrian Armed Forces is always something special. It becomes clear that the soldier is something special.” He also emphasized in his speech: “In the future, they will perform their service as military musicians and are an important part of public relations work.”

In the presence of their families, the soldiers pledged their allegiance to the Republic of Austria in the Conrad Barracks, thereby affirming their service in the Austrian Armed Forces. After the highlight of the swearing-in ceremony, the pledge of allegiance, the ceremony was officially concluded with the Tyrolean national anthem performed by the Tyrolean Military Music Band under the direction of Music Master Vice-Lieutenant Gerold Oberhauser. The reflective part of this ceremony was organized by the Catholic military chaplain, Hans-Peter Schiestl, and the Protestant military chaplain, Gross.
