Hammer Performance! His name is Paul Hammer and after 20 days of basic military service with Jäger Battalion 17, he has already immortalized himself in the history books of the southern Styrian garrison. It is thanks to him that a fire in Straß ended relatively lightly a few days ago. At around 10 p.m., the young soldier discovered heavy smoke in the area of the sports facility opposite the barracks and immediately raised the alarm. He and his comrades Stefan and Alexander Mauerhofer immediately informed the fire department and tried to fight the fire.
Barracks commander Lieutenant Colonel Georg Pilz and garrison mayor Reinhold Höflechner thanked the three recruits for their civil courage with a small gift.
