At a bilateral meeting between the Polish Deputy Prime Minister, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, and the Danish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Troels Lund Poulsen, a few days ago, the two countries signed an agreement on cooperation in the areas of security and defense.

Denmark is already a member of the Multinational Corps North-East in Szczecin. Almost 400 NATO officers, non-commissioned officers and civilian personnel serve in this corps. The command of the Multinational Corps North-East plays the role of the regional land component command in the NATO force structure and is responsible for the region on the so-called eastern flank. In future, joint exercises and training between the two countries are to take place. “Our cooperation must become even stronger. And I can say with full conviction that our alliance with Denmark has never been as strong as it is today,” said Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz. https://militaeraktuell.at/dassault-erhaelt-rafale-auftrag-aus-frankreich/ One of the topics of discussion was security in the Baltic Sea region and the protection of critical infrastructure such as the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline, which runs between Poland and Denmark. “The Baltic Sea, the protection of critical infrastructure, for example the Baltic Pipe, the gas port, everything that is extremely important for us today, we have to take special care of,” said Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen. The war in the Ukraine was also a topic. Kosiniak-Kamysz said: “Europe must get involved, the European Union must get involved to help Ukraine. We must not get used to war. We must not forget that people are dying every day in Ukraine, that they are fighting for peace, for freedom, for normality, for democracy, for Ukraine to be an independent state.” In conclusion, Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized: “We appreciate what Denmark has done. The decision to deploy F-16 aircraft and Denmark’s multi-billion dollar commitment to provide military support to Ukraine is extremely valuable for us as Ukraine’s neighboring country.”
