Patria and Lockheed Martin signed the first Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for industrial participation in the Finnish F-35 program a few days ago. Finnish F-35 program program. The contractual framework for the assembly of the front fuselage of the F-35 by Patria in Finland was agreed.

“This agreement is an important milestone for the Finnish F-35 program and Patria,” says Petri Hepola, Chief Program Officer F-35 at Patria. “The large-scale assembly of 400 forward fuselages will take Patria’s industrial capabilities to the next level. The initial cooperation with Lockheed Martin has worked very well, which is an excellent basis for future cooperation.” The F-35 program also gives Patria access to the global F-35 supply chain. “The F-35 will provide Finnish industry with unique capabilities that leverage fifth-generation engineering and manufacturing for 21st century security needs,” says Mike Shoemaker, vice president of F-35 customer programs at Lockheed Martin. “We look forward to further expanding our partnership with Patria and the innovative Finnish industry to create economic value in Finland and promote the affordability of the F-35 program.”

The most important industrial cooperation projects with Patria include the large-scale assembly of F-35 front fuselages in Finland, which are also intended for international users, as well as the further production of structural components. In addition, Patria will set up production projects with Pratt & Whitney for the F135 engines that power the Finnish F-35 aircraft.
