On Saturday, the gates of the Martin Barracks in Eisenstadt opened for a parents’ day for the families of the 84 recruits who joined the 1st Jäger Company of Jäger Battalion 1 in July. The relatives were welcomed to the barracks by the military commander of Burgenland, Brigadier Gernot Gasser, and informed about the garrison and the Burgenland military command.

The troop badges were also awarded during the Parents’ Day.

The visitors were then given an insight into the everyday life of soldiers at various stations. Training content, sport and self-defense, a weapons and equipment show and a tour of the accommodation were just some of the stations shown to the members. At the end of the event, the young soldiers were awarded the troop body insignia at the final line-up. The image of St. Martin, who is also stylized as a Roman soldier on the troop body insignia, is a reminder of the virtues of the soldier.
