From December 4 to 7, Nexter presented its solutions at the EDEX 2023 exhibition in Cairo, Egypt. Nexter, one of the two companies of the KNDS holding, is expanding its partnership with Egypt for the modernization of the armored units of the Egyptian Armed Forces.

Among other things, the Enhanced Main Battle Tank (EMBT), the first 4th generation main battle tank, was exhibited. The system demonstrator is equipped with a new, improved design and features such as a 22-shot 120 millimeter autoloader, a chassis with seven wheels and a 1,500 hp engine. The equipment also includes an ARX 30 and an active protection system (APS). The remote-controlled ARX 30 turret is armed with the Tiger helicopter’s 30-millimeter cannon. It is intended for close protection of a platform, a convoy or a company unit. An airburst ammunition for combating drones and loitering ammunition is currently under development. https://militaeraktuell.at/schweden-kauft-amraam-in-grosser-stueckzahl/ The ARX 25 remote-controlled turret was also presented. This is equipped with the 25-millimeter cannon of the French army’s VBCI. Thanks to its range of more than 2,500 meters and its firepower, it is perfectly suited for ground combat. The Leclerc main battle tank was also on display. The Nexter stand also featured medium-calibre weapons that are in service with the Egyptian armed forces, such as the 30-millimetre Rafale cannon – the fastest single-barrel cannon in the world – and the 20-millimetre Narwhal naval turret. Nexter’s entire range of ammunition for main battle tanks, naval and land artillery systems was also on display. This includes Katana, the next generation of high-precision 155-millimeter guided ammunition.
