The delivery targets for Griffon and Jaguar vehicles to the DGA (French defense agency) were met last year. The temporary group of companies (GME) for armored multipurpose vehicles (EBMR) includes Nexter, Thales and Arquus. Together, this group delivered 123 Griffons and 22 Jaguars to the DGA last year.
The Group has been supplying vehicles to the DGA since 2019. Including last year’s deliveries, 575 Griffons and 60 Jaguars have already been delivered. In addition, the sanitary variant of the Griffon (SAN) was introduced last year for the French army’s health service (SSA). The first vehicles of this model variant are to be delivered in the coming months. In addition, a VOA version (artillery observation) was also approved by the DGA in June 2023, and the 3rd Marine Artillery Regiment has already taken delivery of its first vehicles. The VOA version has a retractable optronic observation mast equipped for surveillance, telemetry, targeting and laser designation to control and direct artillery fire. https://militaeraktuell.at/schiebels-camcopter-erhaelt-genehmigung-der-casa/ The Jaguar armoured reconnaissance and combat vehicle and the Griffon armoured multipurpose vehicle are part of the Scorpion program and are equipped with the Scorpion Combat Information System (SICS). The system enables real-time communication between different units. The Jaguar is a 25-ton armored reconnaissance and combat vehicle. Its turret combines three weapon systems: the Nexter 40-millimeter CTA cannon, two MBDA medium-range missiles (MMP) and the T3 Hornet remote-controlled turret. The system vetronics are being developed by Thales. The Arquus chassis with six drive wheels, a new suspension and the 400 hp engine provide the necessary mobility. The Griffon is a 24-ton armored multipurpose vehicle. Thanks to its different variants, it can fulfill different tasks: Troop transport, command post, communications relay, artillery observation and 120-millimeter mortar (MEPAC). The Griffon has been in service with the French land forces since 2021, including in the Sahel.
