At the Austrian Armed Forces The driving school training at the Hessen barracks in Wels was in its final spurt in March: around 30 learner drivers, who had been attending the driving school since the beginning of February, took their driving test. After five weeks of training, they all held their class M2 driving license in their hands.

28 new tank drivers

The prospective tank drivers were trained on the Leopard main battle tank, the Ulan infantry fighting vehicle and the M-109 self-propelled howitzer. In addition to tank driving and army driving, the training also covered the care and maintenance of the various tank types. All 28 of the participants passed the test and were awarded the coveted driver’s license.
