On December 2, a festive ceremony was held at the Salzburg Residence to present the new officers and non-commissioned officers of the Austrian Armed Forces took place. Salzburg’s Governor Karoline Edtstadler welcomed 38 newly trained constables (including 3 women) and 15 lieutenants (including 1 woman), who will now begin their service in the province of Salzburg after successfully completing their training.
The ceremony was attended by high-ranking military and government representatives and underlined the importance of the Austrian Armed Forces for the security and stability of Austria. In her speech, Governor Edtstadler emphasized: “The newly trained officers and non-commissioned officers are an important reinforcement for the security of our country. In addition, the new military generation shows that we can continue to rely on the Austrian Armed Forces and that we will continue to have an important partner at our side in the future – for current security policy challenges as well as natural disasters.”

For Salzburg’s military commander Peter Schinnerl, it is a good feeling in view of the 53 new leaders when young people are approached who want to take on responsibility in the armed forces. “We need young leaders. They have undergone tough training and strengthen us at all levels,” said Schinnerl during the ceremony.
The new cadre soldiers underwent intensive training and are now ready to take on their duties in the Salzburg garrisons. Their skills and knowledge will make an important contribution to the security of the population in the future.
