The seminar for tactics and combat equipment instructors took place this year from September 13 to 15, 2016 under the responsibility of the Tactics Department at the Institute of Higher Military Leadership (IHMF) at the National Defense Academy. A total of 21 national and 2 German seminar participants took part in this annual event, with almost all BMLVS academies and schools represented.
The main topic of the seminar, which was conducted under the direction of the Head of the Tactics Department, ObstdG Dieter SCHADENBÖCK, was this time the coordination of training content and learning objective taxonomies in the core disciplines of tactics, logistics and leadership theory in relation to the course-based training of officers.
The seminar was particularly enriched by the participation of two German officers from the Army Tactics Centre at the Army Officers’ School in Dresden. For their part, they were able to present the regular training of German troop officers and thus provide the individual working groups with a valuable contribution for their work.
Of course, innovations from the field of teaching and research were also presented and new teaching scripts and leaflets from the Tactics Department were presented. The two German guests also made a special contribution here on the topic of Opposing Force – Structures and Procedures. The results of the seminar and the documents presented can be found on the IHMF Teaching & Research intranet homepage in the Tactics Unit folder – a visit to this page is definitely worthwhile!
