The Swedish Procurement Agency (FMV) has signed a contract for the purchase of 321 6×6 armored vehicles from the Finnish defense company Patria. Finnish defense company Patria defense company Patria. The order is worth around 470 million euros.

The 321 vehicles, known in Sweden as the Pansarterrängbil 300, are to be stationed with the Livgardet regiment in Kungsängen and several other units in the country. Patria has already delivered 20 6×6 vehiclesordered in a previous contract from April 2023. The upcoming delivery of the 6×6 vehicle from Patria is the troop transport model, which offers modern vehicle technology and protection for up to twelve crew members. The vehicle has a modular design and can be configured for a variety of purposes. The Pansarterrängbil 300 vehicle is an excellent example of Finnish-Swedish cooperation, as the vehicle has been designed for Nordic conditions from the outset and Swedish suppliers have made a significant contribution, for example with the engine and steel for the armor.” Patria’s 6×6 vehicle has been selected as the platform for a multi-European cooperation program within the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS), in which Finland, Latvia, Sweden and Germany are already involved. Finland only purchased a further 40 6×6 vehicles in Januarybringing the total number of Finnish purchases to 131. Sweden joined the 6×6 research and development program in 2022.
